Štrbské Pleso is a ski, tourist and health resort nestled in the foothills of High Tatra Mountains. Accessible by both car and public transport, this resort, located at an altitude of 1350 m and near a tarn, offers an ideal setting for this Conference.

During the period from November 1th to May 31th, winter closure is in effect. Higher-altitude trails, saddles, and peaks are closed to tourists. However, all trails leading to high mountain chalets are open year-round, except for Chata pod Rysmi. Therefore, the following hiking excursions are allowed:

Additional hiking opportunities arise through train travel to Tatranská Polianka (from Tatranská Polianka to Sliezsky dom), Starý Smokovec (from Starý Smokovec to Slavkovská vyhliadka, Hrebienok, Téryho chata, Zbojnícka chata, Skalnatá chata), or Tatranská Lomnica (from Tatranská Lomnica to Chata pri Zelenom plese, Biele pleso).

Important: According to the applicable legislation (Zákon o Horskej záchrannej službe), a person in a mountain area is obligated to cover the costs associated with the performance of rescue operations or search activities related to them.
